F-100F Super Sabre, 1/72 - Trumpeter 01650

The Trumpeter 01650 is a plastic model kit to be assembled of the F-100F Super Sabre at 1/72. It reproduces the two-seat version of the famous American jet aircraft, the North American F-100, with a mounted length of 245 mm and a wingspan of 165 mm.

The F-100F Super Sabre

The F-100 Super Sabre was part of the first generation of US Air Force supersonic fighter jets. Nicknamed “Hun”, it was the first American series fighter capable of maintaining supersonic speed in level flight. The F-100F version, equipped with two tandem seats, entered service in 1958. Designed for training, it retained the airframe and armament evolutions applied to the F-100D.

The F-100F is also associated with the first Wild Weasel missions, dedicated to detecting and neutralizing enemy anti-aircraft defenses. Its elongated silhouette, its frontal air intake, and its distinctive fin make it a standout subject from Cold War American military aviation.

This reference includes 167 parts, including 165 grey plastic parts, a clear windscreen and a clear canopy. The fuselage and wings feature fine engraved panel lines and structural details. The 1/72 scale makes it possible to build a detailed aircraft while keeping a moderate display footprint in a display case or an aviation diorama.

Assembly calls for the usual supplies for static model making: plastic glue, paint, cutting tools, fine abrasives, and application products for decals. A suitable primer makes surface preparation before painting easier and helps you control any panel joint lines. The canopy will benefit from being protected during the painting stages in order to preserve its transparency.
