Tu-22M3 Backfire C Strategic bomber, 1/72 - Trumpeter 01656

Planned for September 2026, the Trumpeter 01656 kit offers a plastic model to be assembled at 1/72 scale of the Tupolev Tu-22M3 Backfire C, a Soviet strategic bomber with variable-sweep wings.

The Tu-22M3 is a major version of the Tu-22M family, recognizable by its lengthened silhouette, its lateral air intakes, and its variable-sweep wings. This large Cold War combat aircraft is an outstanding subject for a collection devoted to Soviet aviation and modern military aircraft.

The build reproduces the main visible sections of the aircraft: multi-station cockpit, fuselage, wings, landing gear, and armament. The instructions also include the application of decals and provide a painting and marking guide.

Glue and paints are not included. For assembly, plan on the usual supplies for static model making: plastic glue, side cutters, a precision hobby knife, fine abrasives, brushes or an airbrush, as well as finishing products suitable for decals.
