Schlachtschiff Bismarck 1941, 1/700 - Trumpeter 05711

The German battleship Bismarck 1941 model kit from Trumpeter, reference 05711, reproduced at 1/700 scale one of the most famous warships of World War II. This static plastic kit to be assembled depicts the Bismarck in its 1941 configuration.

Put into service in 1940, the Bismarck belonged to the German Kriegsmarine. Its only operational deployment took place in May 1941 during Operation Rheinübung in the North Atlantic. The ship is notably associated with the Battle of the Denmark Strait, before being lost just a few days later.

At the 1/700 scale, each dimension of the real ship is reduced by 700 times. Once built, the model is approximately 360 mm long. Its format is suitable for creating a stand-mounted naval model or for integrating into a maritime diorama.

The kit includes 281 parts, spread across eight sprues, as well as an upper hull, a lower hull, and a waterline plate. It allows you to choose between a full hull display or a waterline version, suitable for a water-based presentation. A decal sheet and an assembly instruction manual are included.

Like any plastic model kit, this assembled model requires glue, paints, and modelling tools. Careful preparation of the small parts, painting by sub-assemblies, and applying the decals will help recreate the characteristic details of a 1/700 battleship. A light weathering and work on the structural lines can then further enhance realism.
