Standard Scriber - AMMO by MIG Jimenez A.MIG-8549

The Standard Scriber AMMO by MIG Jimenez A.MIG-8549 is an engraving tool for static model making. It lets you create structural lines, rework panel lines that have been softened during sanding, and cut sheets of styrene cleanly.

Its design is suited for producing regular, sharp tracings on model surfaces. It is also ideal for engraving textures, especially to depict stones or bricks on suitable scenery bases.

The tool comes with two 1.5 mm and 2 mm tips, each protected by a cap. It can be used on plastic, PVC, wood, resin, and other soft materials. It is not intended for working with metal, ceramics, or hard surfaces.

To achieve precise engraving, start with light pressure and then increase it gradually over successive passes. Using a slightly flexible metal ruler or a rigid masking tape strip is a useful guide for drawing straight lines on fuselages, car bodies, armored vehicles, ships, and diorama elements.
