F-86A in Korea early variants, 1/48 - Clear Prop Models CP4825

The model F-86A in Korea (early variants) Clear Prop Models CP4825 reproduces an early-series North American F-86A Sabre aircraft that was used during the Korean War. Built at 1/48, this injection-molded plastic kit lets you assemble an iconic American jet fighter from the early 1950s.

The F-86 Sabre was designed by North American Aviation. With its swept wing and jet engine, it belongs to the first generation of jet fighters that became known for their aerial combat during the Korean War. The F-86A version represents an early stage in the evolution of the Sabre, before the later variants of the family.

The CP4825 reference is designed for advanced modelers. It includes 176 plastic parts, including transparent elements, as well as 38 photo-etched parts. A decal sheet and a detailed, full-color assembly guide are also provided to support assembly and decoration of the model.

Once completed, the model measures 240 mm in length with a 238 mm wingspan. At 1/48 scale, each dimension of the real aircraft is reduced forty-eight times—an appreciated format for the level of detail it allows, especially for the cockpit, landing gear, structural panels, and the overall finish.

Assembly requires careful preparation of the parts and particular attention to the photo-etched elements. For finishing, applying a suitable primer makes painting easier and helps you check the fit of the assemblies. The decals will benefit from being applied to a smooth, glossy surface, before any light weathering suited to an operational aircraft from the period.
