Curtiss H16, 1/72 - Roden 049

The Curtiss H-16 from Roden, reference 049, is a 1/72 scale injected plastic aircraft model kit. It reproduces a large twin-engine biplane flying boat from the First World War, designed for maritime patrol operations.

The Curtiss H-16 belongs to the family of “H” flying boats developed by Curtiss. A version of the Felixstowe F.2A built in the United States, it was used towards the end of the conflict for reconnaissance and maritime surveillance. H-16s notably operated from British, French and Irish naval bases, while some examples were also used by the US Navy.

At 1/72 scale, this kit makes it possible to represent the characteristic lines of this period aircraft: a flying boat hull, a braced biplane wing configuration and two engines installed between the wings.
