The B1 Centauro AFV Early Version (2nd Series) with Upgrade Armour by Trumpeter, reference 01564, is a static model kit at 1/35 depicting an early version of the Italian wheeled armored vehicle B1 Centauro, equipped with additional armor. Once assembled, the model measures 242.5 mm long and 89.2 mm wide.

The B1 Centauro is an Italian eight-wheel drive armored vehicle. Its low silhouette, four axles, and turret make it a particularly recognizable subject among modern military vehicles. This 1/35 scale reproduction allows you to create a detailed vehicle for a collection of contemporary armored vehicles or a military diorama.

The kit includes more than 300 parts spread across eight sprues, with upper and lower hull components, turret, and tires. The lower hull is molded in one piece, and the running gear includes separate elements to recreate the contours of the suspension and transmission. The wheel hubs are also provided separately.

The model features rubber tires with molded tread patterns, a photo-etched part, and a length of brass wire for the towing cable. More than thirty photo-etched elements help represent fine details such as headlight guards. The rear panels, armored hatches, and access doors are reproduced as separate parts.

At 1/35 scale, each real dimension of the vehicle is reduced by a factor of 35. This common military model scale makes it easy to integrate the Centauro with figures, vehicles, and scenery elements in the same scale.

Assembly requires the usual supplies for plastic modeling: suitable glue, cutting and deburring tools, fine abrasives, primer, and paints. Careful preparation of the small parts, fitting the photo-etched details, and working the wheels will highlight the sharpness of the details. Light weathering, dust traces, or road grime can then further enhance the vehicle’s operational appearance.
