LOCK ’N LOAD Weathering Rechargable Technical Pencil A.MIG-8349 is a weathering set for static model kits offered by AMMO by MIG Jimenez. It combines a rechargeable LOCK ’N LOAD lead holder and thirteen color leads designed to achieve precise finishing effects on vehicles, aircraft, figures, ships, and diorama elements.

The system allows, in particular, to depict chipped paint, scuff marks, dust, dirt, streaks, soot, rust, fading, metallic effects, chalk inscriptions, and shading of structure lines. The leads are already pre-cut: the effect can be drawn directly, then blended or softened with a brush lightly moistened with water. The tip can also be moistened before application.

The effects remain adjustable with water. A matt surface provides better grip during application. To preserve the work before using other water- or thinner-based weathering techniques, a thin layer of varnish can be applied.
