LUCKY VARNISH Matt A.MIG-2051 is a matte acrylic varnish for static scale models, offered by AMMO by MIG Jimenez in a 60 mL bottle. It is used to provide a uniform matte finish to painted models and to complete the decoration or weathering steps.

Application on the model

This varnish can be applied with a brush or an airbrush. It is used directly from the bottle, with no dilution required. To preserve fine details and achieve an even finish, thin coats are recommended.

When airbrushing, AMMO by MIG Jimenez recommends spraying in light, short passes, about 15 cm from the surface, at a pressure of 1.2 bar / 17 psi. Allow at least 5 minutes between coats and avoid overloading the surface. Full drying takes place in 24 hours.

Finish and care

The matte finish is suitable for military vehicles, aircraft, figures, ships, dioramas, and other modeling subjects when the desired look should not be glossy. It can also help unify the appearance of different painted areas on a build.

Clean tools and the airbrush with water or with the acrylic thinner A.MIG-2000.
