Gotha G.IV, G.V (Roden kit), 1/72 - Brengun BRL72233
The Brengun BRL72233 is a photo-etched detailing set designed for Roden models of the Gotha G.IV and Gotha G.V bombers at 1/72.
This accessory makes it possible to add fine metal parts to a replica of these German twin-engine aircraft from the First World War. At this scale, photo-etching provides a level of finesse particularly suited to flat parts, grilles, and small structural details that are difficult to reproduce with the same sharpness using injected plastic.
The Gotha G.IV, then the G.V, were among the large bombers used by the Imperial German Air Service during the 1914-1918 conflict. Their distinctive silhouette, with two engines mounted between the wing planes, makes them an iconic subject for a Great War aviation model.
Installing photo-etched parts requires careful preparation. They are separated from the fret using a fine blade or a suitable pair of tweezers, then delicately bent when necessary. Assembly can be done using an appropriate cyanoacrylate glue for metal. Applying a primer layer afterwards helps improve adhesion and ensures uniform paint coverage.
