The U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 (TOS) by Revell, reference 04991, is a plastic model kit to be assembled at 1/600, depicting the famous starship from Star Trek: The Original Series. It recreates the iconic silhouette of the Enterprise, with its large circular section, secondary hull, and its two distortion nacelles.

In the Star Trek universe, the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 is the starship assigned to the five-year mission commanded by Captain James T. Kirk. Designed for the original TV series, this design has become one of the most recognizable portrayals of science fiction.

An Enterprise model at 1/600 scale

When assembled, the model measures 481 mm long, with a width of 213 mm and a height of 101 mm. At a scale of 1/600, it offers a format especially suited to highlighting the ship’s characteristic lines on a shelf or as part of a Star Trek model collection.

The kit includes 117 parts. The decal sheet makes it possible to create the markings of the Enterprise, as well as those of the Potemkin and Constellation starships. Applying the decals onto a smooth, glossy surface makes integration easier, before optionally using a suitable protective varnish.

As with any snap-together plastic model kit, preparing parts, removing mold lines (de-burring), and doing test fits help ensure a neat build. Using a plastic primer can also help bring out details and prepare the model for painting. The clear parts require careful handling to preserve their clarity.
