IRON MAIDEN Ed Force One - Boeing 747-400, 1/144 - Revell 03780

The Revell 03780 recreates the Boeing 747-400 “Ed Force One” at the 1/144 scale, in Iron Maiden’s iconic livery. This snap-fit plastic model kit features the famous quad-engine jet used by the band during the worldwide The Book of Souls World Tour in 2016.

The Boeing 747-400 Ed Force One

The Boeing 747-400 is a modernized version of Boeing’s Jumbo Jet, recognizable by its two-deck fuselage and four engines. The Ed Force One was Iron Maiden’s touring aircraft in 2016. Dressed in a special design linked to the visual universe of the album The Book of Souls, it carried the band and its team across more than 35 countries. Singer Bruce Dickinson also piloted this aircraft during the tour.

The Revell model kit at 1/144 scale

Once built, this replica offers a wingspan of 44.6 cm and a length of 49 cm. At a 1/144 scale, it makes an impressive display piece for a collection focused on civil aviation, airliners, or the world of Iron Maiden.

The kit includes 85 parts and lets you assemble the distinctive 747-400 silhouette, with its four CF-6 engines, detailed landing gear, the gear bays, and the undersides of the wings. The landing gear can be shown in the extended or retracted position, for a model displayed on the ground or in flight.

Ed Force One Decals

A sheet of decals is included with the model to reproduce the decorative elements of the Ed Force One. The decal artwork includes, in particular, the Iron Maiden markings and visuals associated with this special version of the Boeing 747-400.

Assembly and finishing

Building a 1/144 airliner requires careful preparation of the fuselage halves, wings, engines, and landing gear. A dry fit of the main sub-assemblies helps you check fit and alignment before gluing. Painting is generally more even after applying a primer suited to the plastic.

For the decals, a smooth surface makes it easier to apply large decals to the fuselage and the fin. Careful handling afterward helps preserve the crispness of the markings and achieve a uniform finish.
