T-34/76 late 1943 production WWII Soviet Medium Tank, 1/35 - ICM 35366

The ICM reference 35366 is a 1/35 scale model kit of a Soviet medium tank T-34/76 from late production 1943, used during World War II. Made in plastic, this kit lets you recreate a T-34 version armed with the 76.2 mm F-34 gun and fitted with the cast hexagonal turret, often nicknamed “nut”.

The T-34 holds a major place in the history of Soviet armored vehicles. Its mass production began in 1940. Combining sloped armor, a Diesel engine, and a long 76.2 mm gun, it became one of the main medium tanks of the Red Army. The T-34/76 remained in service until they were gradually replaced by the more heavily armed T-34-85, starting in 1944.

The reproduced version corresponds to late production from 1943. It is distinguished in particular by the improved hexagonal turret and by the commander’s cupola introduced in spring 1943. This subject is well suited for building a Soviet armored vehicle from the 1944 period, with diorama possibilities on the Eastern Front or in operations conducted in Belarus, Ukraine, Romania, or around Sevastopol.

Assembly calls for the usual steps of plastic modeling: preparing the parts, gluing, removing mold seam lines if necessary, and painting. Applying a primer generally helps ensure a uniform finish and better preparation of the chosen camouflage shades. Then, a restrained weathering can enhance the surfaces of the armor, the running gear, and the external details, depending on the operational look you want to achieve.
