The M5 Stuart tanks or the self-propelled M8 howitzers based on the same chassis very often had their periscopes protected by welded-rod guards. Since it is almost impossible to produce such guards from injected styrene, and those made from photo-etched parts do not look quite right, Special Hobby now offers 3D-printed versions that can be used on your Tamiya kit.
