TRUE METAL STEEL AK457 is a metallic wax-based paint offered by AK Interactive for coloring static model kits, figurines, and dioramas. Its steel shade makes it possible to reproduce metal surfaces and to create worked-metal effects on details, equipment, or mechanical elements.

The wax-based formula with metallic pigments is designed to achieve a realistic metallic finish. The product can be applied with a brush, with your finger, or with a cotton swab. It can also be used with an airbrush after dilution with a suitable thinner such as white spirit, to achieve a finer surface.

Polishable metallic finish

After complete drying, True Metal Steel paint can be polished to enhance the metal sheen of the surface. This feature allows you to vary the final appearance depending on the treated areas: a more satin metal, brighter edges, or emphasized metallic details.

Applying a primer before painting is recommended to prepare the surface. Once the product is dry, the finish can also be protected with an acrylic varnish. Because it is wax-based, a drying time of 48 hours is recommended before polishing, handling, or varnishing steps.
