ANTI-SLIP TEXTURE AK8200 is a two-component modelling product designed by AK Interactive to recreate a non-slip texture at scale for static scale models. The set combines a liquid adhesive and a fine, silica-based texture, to be applied to the model areas that have been previously marked out.

This type of granular coating can be found on certain horizontal vehicle surfaces, particularly the crew access/walking areas. It provides realistic raised texture and is an interesting detailing step before priming and painting an armoured vehicle or any other subject that requires this surface effect.

Application of the non-slip texture

• Mark off the areas to be treated, using masking tape when necessary.
• Apply the liquid adhesive to the selected surface.
• Pour the texture onto the adhesive to cover the work area.
• Remove any excess once the application is complete.
• The textured surface is then ready to receive a primer.

Working in small sections helps maintain an even application and precisely control the coating’s boundaries. The adhesive can be applied using the brush reserved for technical products.
