Douglas DC-6, 1/144 - Roden 304
The Douglas DC-6 assembly model by Roden, reference 304, reproduces at scale 1/144 one of the great post-war, four-propeller passenger airliners. This plastic kit lets you build a Douglas DC-6 in Delta Air Lines livery.
Developed by Douglas Aircraft Company, the DC-6 was designed for commercial passenger transport on short- and long-haul routes. With its four radial engines and distinctive silhouette, it belongs to the iconic era of piston-powered airliners that came before the widespread introduction of jet aircraft.
At scale 1/144, the assembled model is about 223 mm long. This scale is particularly well suited for building a civil aviation collection and displaying multiple aircraft together on the same miniature airport scene.
The box includes plastic parts, a clear part for the cockpit, a decal sheet, as well as an instruction manual for assembly and painting/decoration. The decals allow you to reproduce the Delta Air Lines livery included in the kit.
A careful assembly, cleaning up the parts’ edges, and treating the mating seams will help achieve a crisp finish. Applying a primer before painting makes it easier to check the surface, while a metallic finish and careful placement of the decals will highlight the classic look of this airliner.
