He-111E ''Emil'', 1/72 - Roden 027
The He-111E « Emil » Roden 027 is an airplane model kit to be assembled at 1/72, dedicated to the Heinkel He 111E. This reference reproduces an early version of this German twin-engine bomber, recognizable by its stepped, multi-pane windshield cockpit layout, characteristic of the first He 111 variants.
The Heinkel He 111 was used during the 1930s and throughout the Second World War. The E variant is part of the aircraft’s initial development stages and makes for an interesting subject to depict the bomber’s early operational beginnings in a military aviation collection project at 1/72.
The Roden kit is a plastic model to build and paint. It includes clear parts as well as a decal sheet for finishing the aircraft. Assembly requires the usual modeler tools: side cutters, plastic glue, fine abrasives, and suitable paints.
At a scale of 1/72, every dimension of the real aircraft is reduced 72 times. This format makes it easy to include the He 111E in a collection focused on bombers, the Luftwaffe, or aviation from the period before and covering the beginning of the Second World War.

Assembly and finishing
Careful preparation of the parts before gluing helps achieve clean assemblies. Applying a primer before painting makes it possible to check seams and even out the surface. Decals should be applied to perfectly dry and smooth paint; a matte, satin, or gloss finish can then be chosen depending on the desired look.
