Vehicle Mapping Technique Lights and Shadows is a set of six oil paints ABT 502 offered by AK Interactive under reference AKABT303. It is designed to work on lights, shadows, and tonal variations on static models.

The shades in this set make it possible to tackle mapping techniques, as well as dot-and-dash work and color blending. These methods help to refine a base coat or camouflage, enhance volume, and achieve faded or slightly soiled surface effects.

Thanks to the blending and transparency properties of the oil paints, this set is suitable for finishing work on miniature vehicles, aircraft, and ships. The colors can be applied gradually to adjust the intensity of the effects while keeping the underlying shade readable.

Each color is supplied in a 20 ml tube. For scale modeling use, suitable brushes, a palette, and a thinner compatible with oil paints are useful additional tools. Applying the paint onto a surface that has been previously painted and is thoroughly dry makes it easier to control blends and transitions.
