German Field Grey Uniforms 3G is a set of AK Interactive acrylic paints, reference AK11627, designed for colouring scale figures depicting German feldgrau uniforms from the Second World War. It brings together six shades from the 3rd Generation range, organized around base colours, shadows, and highlights.

Feldgrau, or campaign grey, was associated with uniforms worn by German forces during the Second World War. Its shades could vary depending on production runs and time periods. This selection allows you to work on two interpretations: a green-dominant variant and an early-period grey-blue variant.

Modelling use

This set is suitable for painting historical uniform figures. Applying a shadow colour, then a base shade, and finally a highlight colour in succession helps to bring out the relief of folds, pockets, and textile equipment. The shades can also be mixed in order to modulate differences in tone between multiple figures in the same diorama.

For an even finish, it is recommended to carefully prepare the figure, then apply the paint in thin layers. A suitable primer generally helps with adhesion and the readability of details. Shadows can be placed in the recesses of the uniforms, while highlights emphasize the areas most exposed to light.
