Russian Obj199 BMPT Ramka w ATGM launche ATAKA, 1/35 - Trumpeter 09565

The Trumpeter 09565 kit reproduces the Object 199 BMPT Ramka, a Russian armored support vehicle equipped with Ataka anti-tank guided missile launcher systems, in 1/35 scale. This plastic model lets you build a modern vehicle with a very distinctive silhouette, based on a chassis derived from the T-72.

The BMPT Ramka was designed to accompany armored and infantry units, especially in urban environments. Its armament includes two 30 mm automatic cannons, a 7.62 mm coaxial machine gun, and four Ataka missile launchers mounted on either side of the main armament. This makes the vehicle an especially interesting subject for a scene featuring contemporary Russian military vehicles.

At 1/35 scale, the assembled model measures 207 mm in length and 117 mm in width. The kit includes more than 1,100 parts, with 25 sprues, an upper hull and a lower hull that are carefully molded, as well as 188 individual track links. Three photo-etched sheets and a copper cable are also provided to enhance the visible details.

Building the tracks link-by-link allows you to work on the shape around the drive sprockets and road wheels. The photo-etched parts require precise handling and provide a noticeable level of fine detail in the areas concerned. A test fit, careful deburring of parts, and using the right glue for plastic are recommended before painting.

Finishing can be approached with a primer to even out the surfaces, followed by colors suited to modern armored vehicles. Washes, highlights, dust effects, and wear marks then help bring out the relief of the hull, turret, and external equipment.
