M1078 LMTV Standard Cargo Truck, 1/35 - Trumpeter 01004

The Trumpeter 01004 model kit recreates the M1078 LMTV Standard Cargo Truck, a light and medium American tactical transport truck, at the 1/35 scale. This injection-molded plastic kit represents the standard version with a cargo loading platform of the M1078 Light Medium Tactical Vehicle.

The real vehicle is designed to transport equipment and personnel. Its open cargo platform body with foldable side panels makes it a good subject for contemporary military logistics scenes, convoys, or dioramas featuring support vehicles.

Here, Trumpeter offers a replica made up of 430 parts, spread across nine sprues, with a cab and five tires. The kit also includes one photo-etched fret. The cab, made with multi-directional slide-molded parts, the detailed dashboard, and the full driveline assembly with engine and transmission provide a complete level of detailing for assembly.

Once built, the model measures 183.7 mm long, 85.3 mm wide, and 83.2 mm high. At 1/35 scale, each dimension of the real vehicle is reduced by a factor of 35—an extremely popular format for military vehicles and highly detailed dioramas.

The included markings correspond to the US Army. Assembly requires the usual products for static model building: plastic glue, cutting and deburring tools, suitable paints, and finishing products. A primer helps prepare surfaces before painting, while a light weathering can enhance the cab, chassis, and cargo area details.
