    British RR Armored Car Pattern 1914/1920, 1:35 from the manufacturer MENG-Model to scale 1/35 reference VS-010

    The British R-R Armored Car Pattern 1914/1920 by MENG-Model, reference VS-010, is an assembly kit at 1/35 depicting the British armoured car Rolls-Royce in its Pattern 1914 or Pattern 1920 configurations. This armoured vehicle, derived from a Rolls-Royce chassis, is among the iconic machines from the emergence of Britain’s armoured motorized units.

    Developed during the First World War, the Rolls-Royce armoured car enjoyed a particularly long service career. The 1914 and 1920 versions allow you to explore the evolution of this vehicle, used during the Great War, then in the interwar period and at the beginning of the Second World War.

    The kit lets you choose between the Pattern 1914 and the Pattern 1920. It includes 190 parts and, once assembled, measures 147 mm long and 58 mm wide. Riveted armoured body details, running gear components, and the distinctive turret provide an interesting foundation for a build dedicated to early armoured vehicles.

    The box includes clear parts for the headlamps, photo-etched parts, as well as two types of wheels and tyres. The machine-gun mount fitted on the roof is movable. A decal sheet and an instruction manual are also included.

    Four finishing options are offered:

    • Pattern 1914 on the Western Front in 1916 ;
    • Pattern 1914 during the First World War ;
    • Pattern 1920 of the RAF ;
    • Pattern 1920 of the RAF in Egypt in 1942.

    At a scale of 1/35, each dimension of the real vehicle is reduced by a factor of 35. This scale makes it possible to work on paint tones, markings, and dust or wear effects with great finesse, especially on the tyres, rivets, and armoured panels. Careful preparation of the parts, proper gluing to the plastic, and the application of a primer before painting will help bring out the vehicle’s details.
