Paint thinner affects flow, adhesion and drying in scale modeling. The right choice depends on the paint family, tool and finish. Identify whether the product is water-based acrylic, solvent acrylic, enamel or lacquer before thinning.

Airbrush and brush workflows

Use small test batches, thin gradually and test on primed plastic. For an airbrush, pressure, nozzle size and distance matter as much as the ratio. With a brush, several thin coats are safer than one heavy coat.
