The American P-40 Warhawk fighter is one of the iconic aircraft models of World War II. The P-40E version was the first mass-produced version with the V-1710 F-series engine. Painted in US Army colors, the fighter saw action primarily on the battlefields of China, India, and the Pacific. It was supplied to the Allies as the Kittyhawk Mk.IA. One of the most unique battlefields where this aircraft was deployed was the Aleutian Islands. There, the American P-40E and Canadian Kittyhawks had to fight not only against the Japanese enemy, but also against the unpredictable weather and natural conditions of the Aleutians. For this reason, the P-40s were modified for this battlefield. The American aircraft were equipped with sealed exhausts and covered machine gun barrels, while the Canadian aircraft were equipped with a special antenna system.
