The ModelSvit MSVIT72042 is a plastic model kit to assemble of the MiG-21F-13, a supersonic jet fighter, reproduced at a scale of 1/72. This reference makes it possible to create a detailed representation of one of the first versions of the famous MiG-21, an iconic aircraft of Cold War military aviation.

The MiG-21 was designed in the Soviet Union as a supersonic fighter. Its distinctive silhouette, marked by a frontal air intake and a delta wing, makes it a particularly recognizable subject for a collection dedicated to modern aviation, Soviet aircraft, or the air forces of the second half of the 20th century.

The ModelSvit kit is molded in PS plastic and includes 142 parts. Once assembled, the model measures 187 mm in length with a 99 mm wingspan. At the 1/72 scale, it is a suitable format for building a collection of military aircraft without requiring a large display space.

The box includes a photo-etched fret, adhesive masks, as well as the armament planned for the model: two K-13 missiles and two FAB-250 bombs. Five camouflage and marking schemes are provided for aircraft from the Soviet Union, Czechoslovakia, Syria, Finland, and Vietnam.

Building a 1/72 aircraft requires careful preparation of small parts, aligning the fuselage halves, and fitting the fine details. The photo-etch provides additional sharpness to certain details. A suitable primer for plastic then helps you check the joints and prepares the surface for painting. The included masks are useful for achieving a clean separation on the clear cockpit parts.

Decals are best applied to a smooth, glossy surface to limit the visibility of carrier film. A matt, satin, or slightly weathered finish can then be chosen depending on the desired look for the selected decoration. Plastic model glue, paints, precision cutting tools, fine abrasives, and decal setting products complete the assembly kit.
