Be-12PS SAR flying boat, 1/72 - ModelSvit MSVIT72033

The Be-12PS SAR Flying Boat from ModelSvit, reference MSVIT72033, is a plastic injection-molded model kit of the maritime search and rescue version of the Beriev Be-12PS. Built at the 1/72 scale, it features an amphibious seaplane designed for sea rescue missions.

The Be-12PS was developed from the standard Be-12 to meet the needs of Soviet maritime aviation for search and rescue. Designated “Izdelie 2E,” this aircraft stood out for the removal of its armament in favor of survival equipment and medical supplies. It also received an additional hatch under the trailing edge of the right wing and could carry up to thirteen people. Factory trials were conducted successfully in 1972, for a total production of ten aircraft.

This 1/72 scale replica makes it possible to build a large Be-12PS model: the stated wingspan reaches 414 mm and the length is 418 mm once assembled. The kit includes 251 parts made of PS plastic. It comes with detailed landing gear as well as rubber tires.

Two marking options are provided to represent aircraft from the USSR or Ukraine. This choice lets you recreate two decorations associated with the career of this rescue seaplane.
