I-75 advanced interceptor prototype, 1/72 - ModelSvit MSVIT72029

The ModelSvit MSVIT72029 is a plastic model kit to be assembled at 1/72, depicting the I-75, a Soviet advanced interceptor prototype. This reference recreates an experimental aircraft from the Cold War era, developed as part of Soviet research into supersonic interceptors.

The I-75 was derived from the I-7U program and was equipped with an Uragan-5 interception radar as well as a Lyulka AL-7F-1 turbojet. Its first flight took place in 1958. The program was terminated in 1959, making this aircraft a particularly interesting subject for collections dedicated to Soviet prototypes and experimental aircraft.

The kit is made from PS plastic and includes 135 parts. Once assembled, the model measures 254 mm in length and 139 mm in wingspan. The box includes a photo-etched fret, adhesive masks, and two canopy configurations—open or closed. A pair of K-8 missiles is also provided.

The 1/72 scale makes it easy to add this prototype to a military aviation or experimental aviation collection in the same scale. For assembly, the use of plastic model glue, a primer, suitable paints, and finishing products is recommended. Photo-etched parts require careful preparation and the use of precision tools.
