B-17F Memphis Belle, 1/48 - Revell 04297

The B-17F Memphis Belle Revell kit reference 04297 is a plastic injection model kit that reproduces the famous American heavy bomber Boeing B-17F “Flying Fortress” at the 1/48 scale. The Boeing B-17 made history in American military aviation as a four-engine strategic bomber. The B-17F version featured here represents the “Memphis Belle”, a B-17F-10-BO assigned to the 324th Bomb Squadron of the 91st Bomb Group, based at Bassingbourn in the United Kingdom in 1943. The aircraft became especially famous after completing its 25th combat mission in Europe, on 17 May 1943.

This Revell model kit captures the Flying Fortress’s key visual features: deep fuselage, large wings, four engines, and defensive armament distributed around the aircraft. The kit includes, in particular, structured surfaces, a cockpit with instrument panel, a bombardier sight with seat, a rotating machine-gun turret, a movable ventral turret, armament for the side positions, a detailed main landing gear, and moveable propellers.
