KrAZ-255B - Soviet heavy truck, based on its predecessor the KrAZ-214B, made by the Kremenchug automobile plant from 1967 to 1993. Its major improvements were a more powerful (240 hp) engine, and essentially new wide profile wheels capable of regulation of air pressure. The car was used extensively by the Soviet Army, and the armies of the Warsaw Pact, it was exported to the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. To this day the KrAZ-255B features in the ranks of the armies of Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, the former Yugoslavia and Cuba. In addition to military applications the KrAZ-255 was used in great numbers in the national economy of the USSR in the development of Siberia. Nearly 200,000 units of all versions of the KrAZ-255 were produced, including more than 160,000 of the KrAZ-255B chassis.
